As part of our commitment to supporting providers, the London Region has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate Service Improvement Lead to join the small existing team in delivering hands-on senior support to providers across the London region. The post holder will provide short term senior leadership capacity to providers through hands-on, on-the-ground programme management and service improvement expertise and resource to providers, so that they are able to deliver the highest quality, best value healthcare for patients. To fulfil this challenging remit, the Service Improvement Lead will be required to quickly establish themselves as a credible, trusted senior advisor, build an understanding of each providers’ programme support and improvement needs and draw on improvement methodologies and techniques from other sectors to design and lead programmes that support improvement in the most challenging issues across London’s provider sector.

The post-holder will operate in a consultancy style, working with a range of providers across the region on their most challenging issues, driving improvements in areas as diverse as A&E, Cancer, RTT, 7 day services and more. They will provide on the ground resource and expertise for the duration of each short / medium term assignment with a provider, working autonomously to lead NHS Improvement’s support offer, whilst drawing on specialist advice and expertise from other teams within NHS Improvement and partner organisations.

The role is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to have a role which is focused on leading hands-on improvement within providers. Everyone working for NHS Improvement is expected to work flexibly across projects, disciplines and directorates.
