NHS Improvement is responsible for overseeing foundation trusts, NHS trusts and independent providers. We offer the support these providers need to give patients consistently safe, high quality, compassionate care within local health systems that are financially sustainable. By holding providers to account and, where necessary, intervening, we help the NHS to meet its short-term challenges and secure its future.
NHS Improvement is the operational name for the organisation that brings together Monitor, NHS Trust Development Authority, Patient Safety, the National Reporting and Learning System, the Advancing Change team and the Intensive Support Teams.
The purpose of this role is to support the Clinical Director of AHPs in the wide range of responsibilities providing professional allied health professional advice to the Chief Nurse and Board of NHS Improvement, and to NHSI regional teams and provider organisations. The role will contribute to the development of the strategic direction of AHP policy and play a substantial leadership role driving and delivering the AHP business plan to realise the strategic aims and objectives. The post holder will provide effective, dynamic, inspirational and innovative leadership in order that AHPs actively contribute to the quality agenda and service improvement.
