NHS Improvement is responsible for overseeing foundation trusts, NHS trusts and independent providers. We offer the support these providers need to give patients consistently safe, high quality, compassionate care within local health systems that are financially sustainable. By holding providers to account and, where necessary, intervening, we help the NHS to meet its short-term challenges and secure its future.

NHS Improvement is the operational name for the organisation that brings together Monitor, NHS Trust Development Authority, Patient Safety, the National Reporting and Learning System, the Advancing Change team and the Intensive Support Teams.

NHS Improvement is offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to play a significant strategic lead role in the implementation and delivery of a major new regulatory activity within the trust sector, with the opportunity to drive real improvements across the country for the benefit of patients and the wider NHS.

Working with the CQC, NHS Improvement is to undertake Use of Resources assessments and propose a rating. Alongside the rating of Use of Resources, NHS Improvement has also agreed to contribute to the well-led assessments by the CQC in relation to Financial Governance.

NHS Improvement seeks to recruit a team to implement and manage Use of Resources and Financial Governance assessments. This will comprise a small group of highly- experienced and skilled staff who will provide bespoke support for the Use of Resources ratings of providers and also arrange assessments of Financial Governance for the CQC’s well-led rating.

The Senior Manager – Use of Resources and Financial Governance will be required to lead and manage this complex programme that impacts NHS Improvement, CQC and hospital providers, ensuring coordination of teams across the country and ensuring that there is appropriate delivery of this intensive programme – progressively covering all trusts.

The post holder would need to be a highly experienced senior manager who can demonstrate the required skillset in leading and delivering similar significant projects and programmes to the required standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has proven ability of implementation and delivery of significant and complex work programmes in a challenging environment.
