The Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB) was established by the Government in 2016. Headed by the Chief Investigator, it is tasked with carrying out independent safety investigations across the healthcare system in England. HSIB is hosted by NHSI but will maintain its independence both in the conduct and the reporting of its investigations.
The purpose of HSIB is to improve patient safety across the healthcare sector, by carrying out expert investigations to determine the causes of accidents and serious incidents, and to make safety recommendations intended to prevent recurrence and to improve safety across the healthcare system. It is not to apportion blame or liability. It will also seek to improve investigation practice across the system.
This is a new role where you will be part of a dynamic team championing good quality investigation across the NHS.
The Business Manager will be responsible for supporting the Associate Director of Integrated Governance in the operational management of business management processes ensuring administrative services support the strategic objectives of the organisation.
The main responsibilities will include managing the PA and admin support team, managing wide forums such as senior management team meetings and working groups on specific topics. Overseeing the preparation of key agendas, relevant papers and producing external presentation materials is a large part of the role as well as contributing to the development of key policies/procedures and tools to establish a continuous improvement capability within Corporate Services and HSIB.
We are looking for a dynamic and organised person with relevant client -facing and business support experience in a similar organisation. Specialist knowledge of accountancy, improvement, change or project management methodologies is essential gained either through education or work experience.
HSIB is situated at Cody Technology Park, a unique private campus 10 minutes from Farnborough town centre and 40 minutes by train from Waterloo. It is a superb spacious working location with ample parking, a subsidised restaurant, café, nursery, gym and landscaped gardens to enjoy.
HSIB are unable reimburse travel expenses for attending interviews.
